 T enson Liang is one of the most promising and unique pianists of his generation. His innovative personality and artistic intelligence earned several prizes including the International Wideman competition and International West Virginia Piano Competition.

A passionate advocate for music education, Mr. Liang brought his compelling musicianship into his teaching engagements which have included Music for All Festival in Kansas City, Emerald Coast Music Alliance, Taipei Music Festival and Formosa Summer Music Festival. Mr. Liang is also the founder of Music Non-Stop in Kansas City which would bring huge amount of free concerts in every corner of Kansas City, he believes that classical music should not be heard only for people who can afford tickets in concert hall.

This upcoming season, Mr. Liang will explore in Russian repertoires which includes famous composers, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Sergei Prokofiev, Mikhail Glinka; and some unknown composers, Anatoly Lyadov, Georgy Sviridov. He will be performing in cities across the world including Kansas City, Washington DC, Los Angeles, Taipei, and Hamamatsu (Japan).

Last season, highlights include the project of Beethoven 32 Piano Sonatas Marathon with his friends, Ravel Mirror with reflection pieces composed by composers from Kansas City, guest artist for opening and gala concert in Star of Bangkok Music Festival.

Tenson Liang, was born in Taipei, Taiwan, and began his piano studies at the age of five. After he got the bachelor’s degree of Civil Engineering in Taiwan, his passion for piano then brought him to Peabody Conservatory and study with Brian Ganz in 2016. He has won several awards, which includes 1st prize of the National Taiwan Mandarin Daily News Piano Competition, Gold medal of the National Taiwan Young-Artist Piano Competition, Finalist of the International Wideman Piano Competition and West Virginia International Piano Competition In 2018, Tenson was admitted to the UMKC Conservatory as a recipient of several major music scholarships, which includes Lorraine Watson, HJ Chartrand and Joanne Baker Piano Scholarship. He is now studying with Alon Goldstein. Mr. Liang enjoys to play sport, cook, study in philosophy, psychology and politics when he is free.

As a performer, I am the servant of the music, expressing the purity of notes to awake the deep feeling for listeners.
